Commentaires du Broker
Built for C Thomas Clagett Jr, an American businessman in 1976, this 72' ketch has had a fascinating history! Built at Derecktor Shipyard (known as America's most accomplished boatbuilder), her early life was spent around Florida and the Bahamas where having a centreboard made cruising that area accessible for a large yacht.
She came across the Atlantic and made her way to the Isle of Wight. Her last outing was in 2020 when she sailed across the channel. She is now afloat and does need to be moved from the marina on sale completion.
There is a lot of boat here, she has huge liveaboard potential, albeit there is plenty of work to be done but she appears solid and certainly sits afloat happily. The yard have had the engine running and the majority of her equipment tested over the last few months and gradually we are finding out more information which will be added to the listing. Historic paperwork is limited but what we have can be sent on request.
Viewings are welcomed but the boat MUST be moved from the marina on completion and she CANNOT be lifted or slipped locally

Hello Corinne ,
i can see that you did not update the description of the boat based on my feedback when i stepped away from the purchase. It would really help to inform potential buyers better on what plenty of work means but also how unrealistic it is to demand that the boat most be moved on completion of the purchase .
"she appears solid" if we forget the rotten decks (40% and interior(30% minimum) but 80% of flooring
"certainly sits afloat happily" with the bilges polluted which becomes a direct risk when starting to move the boat.
"does need to be moved from the marina on sale completion" transmiiting directly responsibility for an environmental damage to the new owner, based on windows that are cracked in the hull not recommended to take it out to sea.
"Underwater profile · Lifting keel" certainly lifted but inoperable
"Furling sails are on" would be nice to mention the clearly ripped cutter sail
"12 volt battery" at least i was kind enough to leave the 6 brand new 180 ah varta batteries on board
"Shaft" propllor pitch system inoperable
and i could go on
Bit disappointing as people will have to travel and make cost to see the boat, if i would have had this info then i could have saved a lot of money.
Can you inform me of the keel and ruther. Thanks in advance, Jan
If the boat does not sell by August, I will get her.
Hello , are there any pictures from the last haule out ?
Hello Stuart, she's sheathed timber but can't tell you what timber as yet. Please drop me an email and I'll update you when I know more
