Broker's Comments
Designed and built to a high standard, the Hillyard 8 Tonner is a safe and seaworthy vessel. This heavy displacement wooden classic with its rounded bow, long keel and canoe stern looks good and handles well.
The practical and cosy accommodation, with a warm and traditional feel, has a handy stow away table, a small galley, berths for 4 and decent headroom for a boat of her era.
On deck, although she could do with a bit of tlc in places, the tabernacle, lower part of the mast and kings plank were all replaced with new in 2015.
Due to other commitments the present owners would now like to see her to go to a new home with a caring carpenter/wooden boat enthusiast to bring her back to her former glory.
I’m sure there are many more happy sailing years in this lovely vessel and she’s coming to market at a very reasonable price.
