It is easiest to board this vessel when she is stern in via the swim platform. A boarding ladder would be another option if you wish to board midships.
The stern bulwark is quite high from the swim platform which provides good protection in following seas. The full beam cockpit area has bench seating and sink. Engine controls on the starboard side to aid in docking. A Cuisinart BBQ sits atop the live bait well to port. The bait well was decommissioned by a previous owner however it remains plumbed with a water pump in the lazarette ready to be tested and potential use. Two hatches access the large lazarette storage area: fender storage, room for crab pots and components of the Vantage Marine desalination system.
As I was introduced to the yacht by the owner, my first impression was, and continues to be, the beauty of the ribbon grain teak interior, the furnishings, granite counter tops, the tremendous light throughout the salon, galley and pilothouse areas and the amount of livable space throughout the yacht. I am comfortable in its current configuration and am also struck by its potential if someone were interested in retrofitting and updating the interior. LED lights throughout.
There is evidence of water intrusion in various areas which appear to not be active and would benefit from cosmetic attention.
The full beam salon is open to the galley and day head. Ceiling height is approximately 6’6” or more throughout. An L-shaped built-in settee is port aft with a beautiful high-lo table that extends on either end. I imagine it could easily accommodate 8-10 people for a plated dinner. A built-in wet bar is just forward of the settee. It is l-shaped wrapping forward and concealing the private stairwell to the master suite. The bar refrigerator does not work and could easily be replaced with a large wine/beverage cooler. The large LCD TV is inobtrusive as it sits low under the bar counter. The stereo system has an ONKYO Receiver TX-NR626 with speakers throughout the boat and cockpit area. The DVD/CD: Sony DVP-NC665P are also found below the stereo receiver.
Outboard to starboard is an electric fireplace to add ambience and a little extra warmth.
Forward to port is a built-in settee with lamps at either end which faces the wet bar and stereo components. The forward end of the wet bar is a large cabinet for bar stock and glassware.
The day head is forward to starboard just across from an impressive galley. The day head has a granite counter and is nicely appointed. The U-shaped galley is complete with all KitchenAid residential appliances: microwave/convection oven, four burner stove with oven, 20 cu. ft side-by-side refrigerator with freezer drawer, Trash Compactor, Dishwasher. The large side-by-side stainless sink with disposal has a view of the passing scenery while underway. Beautiful granite counter tops provide a large space to prep food or arrange plates for serving. Four bar stools and the raised counter give guests a place to sit while giving the chef space to create in the galley.
Forward from the galley is the pilothouse. Bookshelves, counter top and drawers allow ample space for books, charts, and spreading out a project. Either side of the helm are comfortable built-in seats facing forward affording an amazing view while underway. The pilothouse helm is fully equipped with radar and navigation, autopilot, bow thruster and stabilizer controls all within easy reach of the captain’s chair. The navigation equipment onboard is dated but reportedly works.
Doors from the salon lead to either side deck with ample space to comfortably handle lines, deploy fenders or board the boat from a boarding ladder or platform. The bow has storage on either side and bench seating to enjoy an evening sunset.
You access the flybridge and boat deck from the pilothouse via portside stairs with a hatch. The flybridge, covered with a bimini top (new approx 2016), has a large seating area and table. A minimum of 12 people would be very comfortable for seating. The previous owner notes there have been approximately 40 people onboard at one time for functions.
The flybridge helm is equipped with navigational equipment slaved to main helm station and side-by-side captain’s chairs. A large counter and storage space is just aft of the l-shaped settee. Previously, there was a built-in electric barbeque. Currently a bar fridge and sink remain. Loads of counter space to stage a lunch or appetizers.
Furthest aft is the boat deck with Brower Systems 1500 lb crane davit, Novurania dinghy with a 40hp Yamaha outboard.
The master stateroom accommodations are accessed via a stairwell in the salon; the forward guest staterooms are accessed via the pilot house. The aft master stateroom is full beam with large island queen berth, settee to port and an electric fireplace to take the chill away while adding ambience; enjoy a movie on the Sharp LCD TV and DVD player. A large, cedar lined walk-in closet provides wonderful hanging space for garments for any occasion. Large drawers under the bed and along the starboard and well as the bureau provide space for all of your needs. The private ensuite head has a separate tiled shower.
You may access the engine compartment via a door forward of the master suite. Ceiling height is 6’5”; it will be appreciated by many captains or mechanics alike. All sides of the engines are accessible as well as both generators for maintenance.
Continuing forward through another hatch is the workshop. Work benches, electrical panels and tools are within easy reach. The large air compressor found under the Flybidge helm powers many tools. Also in the workshop for easy access: 30 gallon Whirlpool AC electric heater; Vantage Marine Aqua Water Desalination system (Owner reports it is in working condition); large AC Freezer; 5-Cruis-Air reverse cycle units; Bosch washer and dryer; and house batteries.
Forward again, you are at the base of the stairs leading from the pilot house to the private guest area. A companionway leads you to the VIP with ensuite head to starboard. An island queen with drawer storage, hanging locker, an Insignia LCD TV and reading lamps on either side of the bed create a welcoming space for guests. The head also has a separate tiled shower.
Forward to port is a guest bunk room with private head and a pocket slider door for privacy. Most forward is the final guest bunk room with hanging locker and storage in cupboards outboard. The chain locker is accessed via hatch doors. This cabin also has a private head and shower.
Each bunk guest area is fairly spacious and can easily be imagined as crew quarters.
I believe this boat will be a great fit for people who enjoy entertaining; may have a large extended family or would like to put her into a private charter operation.
In my opinion, she is beautiful as she is yet with even minor changes, she would be easy to update.

Commentaires du Broker

VIRTUAL TOUR - VIDEO - 80 TO 100 PHOTOS - FULL SPECS CAN BE VIEWED OF THIS 1986 KNIGHT & CARVER 67.
If you are looking for a luxury yacht with all the comforts, you will appreciate this Knight & Carver 67. Previous owner explained only three of this DeFever Sharp design were ever made. This four-stateroom, four-bath, with a day-head just off the galley is exceptional. The full beam salon and galley create a massive space for entertaining and enjoying while living aboard.
The current owner has been very comfortable living aboard for the last four years.
Knight & Carver began in 1971 as a repair and refit yard on the San Diego Bay. They soon grew to build more than 100 custom luxury yachts. After filing bankruptcy in 2012, they were acquired by Marine Boat Group which was rebranded as Marine Group Boat Works National City. However, many luxury yachts still stop in for refits and repairs on their trips to Mexico -- northbound or southbound.
This K&C 67 was previously a Tuna fishing boat in Mexico and Panama; a live bait well remains on the back cockpit ready to be put back to use.
If you intend to cruise offshore, she has NAID stabilizers, a desalination system, two generators and 2000 gallons of fuel to get you safely, and in comfort, wherever you may wish to go.
If you are considering a Viking, Broward, Ocean Alexander, Hatteras, Pacific Mariner or other US built luxury yacht, you will certainly want to include her in your considerations.
